Mr Odie Possum..

Mr Odie Possum must have had a disagreement with the Mrs and is sulking up in a tree.I believe it's probably until she sees fit to call him home.I'm sure it had to have been a quarrel, because it's rather windy and rainy outside. It's also not a night to be hanging about off a branch,ya know.I told him to be patient, these things do not last long.Although I didn't tell him I'm not familiar with female possum's tempers.

I know he's not stopped by on his way to work as before, because it's Saturday night. The only other conclusion I can come up with,is he might possibly have been out hanging with the boys on a Saturday night excursion. However,it didn't seem proper to ask him as he was quite embarrassed at the indignities he was suffering being caught up in a tree.I just said howdy hey and took the picture.I wonder if he thinks I'm a local reporter and will give him further embarrassment by putting him on the front page of the Mulberry Gazette.

My Birds

If you look closely you can see the birds flying in various pics.I love these little Sparrows. And then Mrs. Waddlemeyer stopped by and brought some of her friends for a visit.

YoYo Afghan

Yo-Yo Pattern
With a size I hook & worsted weight yarn, each yo-yo uses about 62" of yarn and is about 1 3/4" across.
Ch 4, join with a sl st to the first ch to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch 3 to count as the first dc, work 11 more dc in the ring. Fasten off.

First yo-yo: Join main color with a sc in any dc, ch 3, (sc in the next dc, ch 3) 11 times;
join with a sl st to the first sc. Fasten off.

Yo-Yo Joining

Second yo-yo: Join main color with a sc in any dc, (ch 3, sc in the next dc) 9 times;
ch 2, drop stitch from hook, insert hook through the to of any ch-3 sp on the first yo-yo...

Continuing second yo-yo: Pick up dropped stitch and pull through the loop, ch 1...

Continuing second yo-yo: Sc in the next dc on the second yo-yo...

Continuing second yo-yo: Ch 2, drop stitch from hook, insert hook from the top into the next
ch-3 sp on the first yo-yo...

Continuing second yo-yo: Pick up dropped stitch and pull through the loop, ch 1...

Continuing second yo-yo: Sc in the next dc on the second yo-yo, ch 3; join with a sl st to the first sc on the sceond yo-yo. Fasten off.

Third yo-yo: Join in loops 1 and 2 as done with the second yo-yo.

Continue joining yo-yo's until you have the width desired. The second row of yo-yo's will begin being joined in loops 1-4.

(When joining a yo-yo in four places, work 7 ch-3 loops on the yo-yo, then join to each of the 4 indicated loops.)

Join the second yo-yo of the second row in loops 1-6.

(When joining a yo-yo in six places, work 5 ch-3 loops on the yo-yo, then join to each of the 6 indicated loops.)
Join the third yo-yo of the second row in loops 1-6.

Continue joining yo-yo's until you have one less than the first row. The third row of yo-yo's will begin being joined in loops 1-2

Join the second yo-yo of the third row in loops 1-6.

Continue adding yo-yo's to the third row as you did for the second row. Join the first yo-yo of row 4 to loops 1-4. Continue in this pattern until the afghan is the desired length.

I can't find the tree yoyo diagram,it is no longer on line,so above I found how you would connect the yoyos. You can do these instructions for but in the colors and arrangements as in the tree afghan. After I had made it the size I wanted,I just singlecrocheted around the whole aghan in maroon. You can click on the afghan and it will enlarge, but as I made it years ago and gave away as a present,I can not enlarge it more.I believe I have just given myself a project for the winter and that is to make another one. :)

UPDATE May 2013 I found an old webpage for this with a diagram... http://web.archive.org/web/20020225195942/http://members.aol.com/lffunt/primpine.html

My Thoughts for Anyone Who Needs Them...

The wind bloweth where it will, and you hear the sound of it, but can not tell where it comes from and where it goes; so is everyone that is born of the Spirit. John 3:8

Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Proverbs 3:5

For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7

Holiday Visit to Fredericksburg...

In Colonial times the Rappahannock River was larger and deeper and a very busy port for traveling and supplies. In the pic below is an old bridge in the distance.

I love this toystore below,it is so colorful, notice the sign on the door and then in the pic below this one, look what is in the window. At first,we had to look twice to see it was real.

This building below is a very old and very awesome library called Wallace Library.A book lovers dream with so many books.

And again below is the Rappahannock River and in the distance is a rafter.Swimmers beware in this old river, undertows and years of things being in the river makes it very dangerous.

One of our favorite places to go is Krispy Kreme and around 6pm you can go in just as they are making fresh donuts and watch them being made.Oh,you have not had a donut until you have a fresh donut off the assembly line.MM!And since it's Fall, they have Pumpkin donuts and I have to buy a bag of thier coffee.

When you see this sign light up,you know there's fresh donuts coming up.
