ZigZag afghan

This is my zigzag afghan/blanket I made last year,it's so big I had to fold it over.Then here's a couple of pics of my motif progress.I've been working on that crochet bag,so haven't gotten far on my motifs.

Progress update..

I love the colors together and using Vanna's yarn. So,since I never,ever do one thing at a time,I'll show you something else,it's the start of a crochet bag.I saw the pattern last night on an awesome site, http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/crochet-bag.html It's her pattern,so I won't be posting it here,but she's so kind,she has alot of patterns on her site,and I'm also doing her star that I'll be making into another afghan later, http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/2009/11/granny-chic.html The backdrop of my pics,of what I'm working on,is my zigzag afghan I did last year.

Update on Flower Afghan...

As usual when I work on something,I change up things as I get further.I decided to add another three rows to each square.I felt it brought out the flower more,instead of just a bunch of flowers.

Flower Motif afghan...

Flower Granny Motif 1.Ch 5,join to 1st ch for ring.Ch 3,counts as 1st dc,11 more dc in ring(12 dc).Join to top of 1st dc.


2.Ch 4,skip 2dc,sc,Ch 4,skip 2 dc,sc,Ch 4 skip 2 dc,sc,Ch 4,sc in last dc.This will give you 4 loops to work your flower petals. Change color

3.In 1st four chain loop,work sc,hdc,5 dc,hdc,sc...In 2nd four chain loop,work sc,hdc,5 dc,hdc,sc...In 3rd four chain loop,work sc,hdc,5 dc,hdc,sc...In 4th four chain loop,work sc,hdc,5 dc,hdc,sc.Slip stitch in 1st sc of 1st loop.

4.Now you'll be making the loops to go behind the 1st petals just worked,so you can work the 2nd row of petals on them.Example photo below...

*Ch 5,go behind the 1st petal loop worked,sc in between the petals worked*around.So you will have 4 five chain loops worked behind the four petals.


5.In each 5 chain loop work sc,hdc,10 dc,hdc,sc around.You will now have your 2nd round of four petals worked.


6.Ch 7,sc between petals around,you'll have four ch 7 loops. Change color... Now,you'll be working as a granny square for these last two rows...

7.Ch 3,counts as 1st dc,2 dc in same space,in ch 7 loop 3 dc,ch 2, 3 dc for corner. 3dc between petals, 3dc,ch2,3dc in next 7 ch loop for another corner. 3dc between petals, 3dc,ch2,3dc for another corner, 3dc between petals. 3 dc,ch2,3dc for last corner, join at top of 1st dc.

8.slip stitch in next 2dc,make a ch 3 and 2dc (for 3 dcs) then 3dc,ch2,3dc to make a corner in the ch2 space of previous corner. Work 3 dc in between next set of 3 dc of previous round,work 3 dc in between next set of 3dc of previous rnd. Another corner in previous corner,3dc,ch2,3dc Work 3dc in between next set of 3 dc of previous round,work 3dc in between next set of 3dc of previous rnd. Another corner in previous corner,3dc,ch2,3dc Work 3dc in between next set of 3 dc of previous round,work 3dc in between next set of 3dc of previous rnd. Another corner in previous corner,3dc,ch2,3dc work 3dc in between next set of 3dc and join to top of 1st dc.fasten off

5.In corner make a corner 3dc,ch2,3dc, work 3 dc between 2 sets of 3dc of previous round, make another corner 3 dc,ch2,3dc, work 3dc between 2 sets of 3 dc of previous round, make another corner 3dc,ch2,3dc work 3dc between 2 sets of 3 dc of previous round, make another corner 3dc,ch2,3dc, work 3dc between 2 sets of 3 dc of previous round,join,slip stitch to corner

Easter Weekend...

Okay,so with the newer egg coloring,not original,it had no pink or red.If you like shabby chic,you'll like this box.But,I'll do the original from now on.This was just some we did.

Cherry blossoms are falling like snow on the ground,so pretty.

These geese were next to the woods when we went to Best Buy.

I got this tulip from Lowes and it was on it's side following the sun,so it was crooked.It gave it character,it's more up straight now.Such a beautiful color.
